I'm interested to know everyone's opinion on the last scene I read in the book. It is the end of Dylan's summer in Vermont. He has just made the tragic decision of showing his superhero costume to his girlfriend (don't act like you weren't rooting for him to get laid!) Anyway, the girl runs off upset and Dylan takes a leap off the dock and seemingly flys around the lake a couple of times. I have my own ideas on the message the author is trying to convey here, but I'm interested in what you all thought...

Yeah. I've been waiting for someone to get to this point. I'll be honest though, I was rooting for him to get some!! Ha ha! The thing I don't get, and it happens a bit throughout the book is that everything thing seems really plausible. As you read the story you are thinking, 'Sure it's fiction, but I could see everything happening. Except that.' And he slips it in there throughout the book all nonchalant, like everyone knows a guy on his block that has a magic flying ring. There is one more big surprise that I want to talk with you about that you aren't far from. You'll know if as soon as you read it.
